1. Why do you believe the Kuwaiti government stripped you of your citizenship?
2. How did you feel when you first found about it?
3. It was announced this week that Tareq al-Suwaidan has also been stripped of his citizenship. Do you think this marks an escalation in the government’s crackdown?
4. Why have you felt the confidence to speak out about this while many others are too afraid?
5. As a UK citizen, have you had any success raising the issue with the Foreign Office or any other ministries?
6. Are you disappointed that Kuwait – which is often thought of as a more democratic state in the region – has been taking these actions?

Answer 1: My revocation was a purely political act. It was not based on any legal breach regarding my citizenship. What happened to me was a political, calculated, and frankly brazen attempt, masked under the pretext of the ‘supreme national interest.’
Answer 2: Shock? No. Anger? Briefly. Clarity? Entirely. What is truly astonishing is that it took them this long to make their move, when I have been an outspoken critic in exile for a decade. It seems they resorted only to the last card in their hand, after all other attempts — courts, media campaigns, smear operations — had failed.
Answer 3: Without question. When a government cannot articulate the reason for its punishment, the punishment condemns itself.
Answer 4: Because I do not operate within the lines drawn by regimes. Fear belongs to those who still have something left to lose. I lost my country, my official identity, and my legal status — so what fear remains?
Answer 5: Yes, I have engaged — not because I rely on foreign institutions, nor because I seek foreign intervention in our affairs. I do this only to ensure the historical record remains clear and unambiguous. And yes, we have begun serious, escalating steps to hold the Kuwaiti authorities accountable, the results of which will become visible soon.
Answer 6: In the seventies, Kuwait was a closer refuge for the oppressed in the Middle East than Europe. The same state that once sheltered persecuted political refugees is now persecuting its own children.
Since Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad assumed power, constitutional commitments appear to have become optional rather than foundational.
Today, I am more legitimate than any Amir or minister ruling the state without a constitution. Therefore, I present myself as a legitimate voice capable of restoring Kuwait’s honour and constitutional integrity. I stand before the nation as an alternative, a guardian of the constitution, and a custodian of Kuwait’s heritage.
